Our ultimate vision is to educate, inspire, and motivate our area youth to grow, succeed, and lead the nation! The first fair in Floyd County took place on October 5th and 6th, 1859 in Charles City. Originally intended as a way to show the county’s farmers how to improve their methods, the Floyd County Fair has evolved into a place where the farmers of tomorrow apply the skills they are learning today. Although, interest in the fair has waxed and waned throughout the years with location changes, it has in part has made us the strong fair we are today.
The mission of the Floyd County Fair Society and Fair Board is to annually organizes and conduct the Floyd County Fair with our primary purpose being the Youth Junior Achievement Show and promoting agricultural education. Floyd County has over 200 4-H and FFA members that exhibit each year so take the time to enjoy our Fair week and honor the youth of Floyd County.
